STRIKER Daniel Carr has returned to Huddersfield Town following a one-month loan spell with Mansfield Town.
The 20-year-old made four appearances for the League Two side, scoring once with a close-range equaliser in the club's 1-1 draw at York City.
His departure back to the Championship outfit could be seen as a bit of a surprise for the Stags fan.
After netting his first goal at York at the end of October, Mansfield boss Paul Cox had spoken of his desire to keep hold of players like Carr and fellow loan stars Vadaine Oliver, Jamie Sendles-White and Kieron Freeman.
Cox said at the time: "I think the supporters who came on Saturday (to the York game) will have looked at Vadaine, looked at Carr and Sendles-White and seen they are quality additions, along with Kieron Freeman.
"They are the kind of football players we want to bring into this football club.
"I know we've got our hands tied a little bit financially but the chairman's been really, really pro-active and we've had some really positive conversations about helping ourselves achieve good things at this football club."
Stags face Concord Rangers in a re-arranged FA Cup first round clash tonight at the One Call Stadium.
