Bus operator Trent Barton say that delays are likely the same day shoppers have rushed to claim seasonal bargains.
Black Friday has seen hundreds of people head out to try and claim cut-price goods including televisions and game consoles.
Earlier Trent Barton tweeted: The roads are getting very busy I am afraid, so we may see a few delays to services over the next few hours as we contend with traffic.
There are already delays of up to 15 minutes on the M1 between junction 27 and junction 28 following a crash that has closed one lane of traffic. Normal conditions are expected to resume by 6pm.
