Q Goose Fair has started – what's your favourite thing about the fair and why?
A I love the fact that it's just so Nottingham. Although there's new rides and stalls each year, you can still find your favourite ride in the same spot and you know the Scouts will be selling donuts. It would be rude not to mention the mushy peas and mint sauce.
Q Your job is about promoting volunteering - why should people get involved?
A Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, do something different, gain new skills - all while having fun. It's also a good way to help charities with your time instead of money.
Q What's the strangest thing you've done in your role at NCVS?
A I was promoting volunteering at the Older Citizens Charter event and was coerced into joining the intergenerational belly dancing group as they performed.
Q What's your favourite aspect of Nottingham and why?
A The people and the accent. Us Nottinghamers are really friendly and will talk to anyone. We know how to have a laugh.
