A Top Valley grandma has become probably the oldest person to undertake the ice bucket challenge.
Dorothy Twells, 78, of Top Valley, saw no fear in the challenge that was set by grandson, Jason Melbourne, 39.
With 24 hours to complete the challenge, no one expected Dorothy to take part.
Dorothy said: "Everyone kept telling me that I was too old, but I just knew that I could do it."
The ice bucket challenge sees participants tip ice-cold water over themselves in an effort to spread awareness and raise money for various charities.
On Monday evening, Jason helped his grandmother take part by willingly pouring the icy water over her.
Granddaughter Kirsten Yorke uploaded the short video of Dorothy's challenge to her Facebook page.
Kirsten said: "We have had a great response to the video, lots of people are saying well done.
"We're all amazed. We can't believe that she did it."
In the UK participants are asked to donate to either Macmillan Cancer Support, or Motor Neuron Disease Association.
Dorothy said: "It felt amazing. Macmillan is a charity close to my heart."
Ms Twells' husband suffers from liver cancer and regularly donates to the cancer support charity.
She said: "I feel like I've really done something to help.
"I would recommend that others take part - if you feel alright, I can't see why anyone can't do it."
