Police are warning residents to be vigilant after a spate of thefts in Mapperley.
There have been seven incidents of car crime around the Mapperley Park area since the beginning of June, with most vehicles targeted overnight and windows being smashed for items left on display.
Between Friday May 16 and Sunday June 1 there were also 10 burglaries in the same area as thieves gained entry to houses at all times of day and night and took advantage of unlocked doors and insecure windows.
Two men have been charged in relation to recent offences but officers are asking residents to take extra measures to ensure their valuables are as secure as possible.
Neighbourhood Inspector Simon Allardice said: "We have increased our patrols in the area and we've had some good results with arrests and charges. Residents can also play their part to ensure they don't become a victim.
"We want to drive incidents down and give absolutely no chances for opportunistic thieves."
