A DECISIVE win over the University of Wolverhampton Wildcats has seen the Nottingham Trent University Renegades (pictured) go top of the East Midlands Division in the British Universities American Football League.
The tone was set on Wolverhampton's first possession when a field goal attempt was blocked by Josh Eloi and on the very next play Renegades quarterback Harris Tzen found Kieran Goncalves down the left, who sprinted in.
It didn't take long for Trent to stretch their lead, but this time it was Marcus Boswell who pulled in a Tzen pass on the left. Boswell was involved again when he recovered a fumble and then, with the Renegades on the four-yard line, he caught his second touchdown pass of the day. All the point after kicks were slotted through by Goncalves for 21-0.
In the second quarter, from 25 yards out Tzen found receiver Harry Guest who broke several attempted tackles to reach the endzone. The Renegades then put together a sustained drive that took them down to the Wildcats one-yard line, from where running back Daniel Dobson did the rest for 35-0 at half-time.
Early in the third quarter speedster Adam Adeniji chipped in with a score, this time Peacock added the extra and it stayed at 42-0 as Renegades then tried out the rookies.
