STUDENTS have been moved out their rooms after a water pipe burst at a halls of residence.
The incident took place at around midnight on Monday, November 10 at Minerva House in Spaniel Row.
It is believed a gasket burst on a pipe in the ceiling of the third floor.
Leaking water caused damage on the third and second floor of the building to the carpets, paint work, and ceilings.
The water leaked into six student bedrooms.
Members of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.
The six students affected have been moved to alternative accommodation elsewhere in the building and at the Travelodge in Maid Marian Way.
The building's owner, Fortis Student Living, said the students will be moved back within five days while the rooms dry out.
The cause of the pipe burst has not been worked out. According to Fortis, the pipes receive maintenance checks every two weeks.
Any damage to students' personal property is covered by insurance which is provided as part of their accommodation.
