YORKSHIRE lifted the County Championship at Trent Bridge after beating Nottinghamshire by an innings and 152 runs.
They cantered to their first title since 2001 as ex-Notts man Ryan Sidebottom took four of the five wickets to fall on the final day with the hosts bowled out for 177 in their second innings.
Notts resumed on 149 for five but were only able to resist for 14.2 overs before Yorkshire were able to celebrate a 31st outright title.
Sidebottom, who took nine wickets in the match and finished with figures of six for 30 in the second innings, struck in the third over, knocking over night watchman Gary Keedy's off stump for a 29 ball duck.
The 36-year-old then sent former team-mate Chris Read (2) on his way with a stunning ball that reversed away and drew the faintest of edges behind.
Notts were on 172 with eight wickets down when Luke Fletcher (5) edged Sidebottom to Adam Lyth at second slip.
The final two wickets fell in quick succession. Jake Ball was trapped by Adil Rashid for a duck and then James Taylor looked to launch Sidebottom to the boundary, but was caught by sub Richie Pyrah at backward point to start the celebrations after just over an hour's play.
