FOUR places of worship will come together to form a super church.
The church councils of Clarkes Lane, Chilwell Road, Queen's Road and Wollaton Road have agreed to amalgamate to form Beeston Methodist Church.
It is hoped that within the next five years the existing buildings will be sold and the money raised will be used to build a new church in the heart of Beeston.
Superintendent Minister Rev Stuart Bell said: "With effect from September 1, there will be one church, one church council, one pot of money and one set of working groups overseeing the mission of the single church.
"This is staging post on the pilgrimage towards the fulfilment of the churches' vision for a new united church in a single suite of premises, possibly with satellite premises and located as close as is practicable to the heart of Beeston, designed to equip the church most effectively for its mission."
The new church will have more than 300 members and worship will continue in the four locations for the time being.
Chilwell Road church minister Colin Barrett said: "There are several churches in Beeston close together and hopefully they will be sold to make way for a new one.
"It is a big thing because some of the churches have been around for a 100 years.
"In a way it is an adventure and it is exciting because a new church will allow us to do new things."
On Sunday a service at Chilwell Road Methodist Church will official unite the churches. It will start at 6.30pm and all are welcome.
