SIMON Cox looks set to leave Nottingham Forest. Stuart Pearce admits he is looking to move on more players he does not feel will have a significant role to play at the City Ground. Striker Cox is understood to be in talks with Reading over a move. And the Reds boss hints that more could follow in the near future. Danny Collins, who finds himself well down the pecking order of central defenders, could be another player who is allowed to move on in search of first team football, particularly now the club's injury problems are slowly easing. "Players who are surplus to requirements at this club will leave and imminently one or two more may go," said Pearce. "But I only ever wanted to move out the players I did not feel would be of use to us. "That would freshen things up for us, it would give the young players a chance and also the opportunity to bring in other players, such as Mancienne, Fryatt and one or two others. "Simon is one of the individuals who is speaking to a club. "If a deal can be arranged, that might well happen." Forest are also looking to bring in several new additions to add quality to their ranks. But Pearce says Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah is no longer one of their targets. "We have made bids for Albert in the past, but they were turned down by Middlesbrough, so I think that one is dead," he said. Pearce hopes that a few new additions would help to lift the spirits ahead of the first game against Blackpool on Saturday. And he remains determined to hang on to highly-rated midfielder Henri Lansbury, despite interest from Burnley. "There is a real excitement around the City Ground, there was a good attendance last weekend, I have been really impressed with players like (Jack) Hobbs and (Chris) Cohen, who I have not worked with before," he said. "Having people like them and Andy Reid to work with is a real boost. "But we have to add to that. We have to add to that and keep our best players – unless there is a price there that blows our socks off."
