UP to 90 extra jobs will be created at a Nottingham food park after a further £600,000 was secured for its expansion.
Work at Southglade Food Park, in Bestwood, could begin before the end of the year.
The additional cash, from the European Regional Development Fund, is part of a £7 million project to expand the site.
Last week, Nottingham City Council signed a contract with Willmott Dixon for the work.
Councillor Graham Chapman, deputy leader of the council, said: "This investment will unlock at least 90 job opportunities for the local community, with further jobs available in constructing the new units as well.
"Southglade has been a great success and there has long been demand for expansion space, as well as new companies wanting to locate there.
"This extra cash boost helps the expansion plans to become a reality and will continue to promote the city as a desirable location for manufacturing in the UK."
A total of £3.8 million has been secured from Europe towards the expansion.
Southglade Food Park was opened in 2005 and provides 30,000 sq ft of units for food and drinks firms.
Phase two of the park's expansion will create a further 31,295 sq ft of space.
Fay Davies, general manager of The Food and Drink Forum, which runs the Business Centre at the food park and manages the complex, said interest in the new investment had already begun.
She added: "Southglade phase 2 is excellent news for the food and drink sector – and for Nottingham as a whole – as we know there are manufacturers who are interested in moving in when additional food-grade units become available."
Graham Allen, MP for Nottingham North, said: "I am delighted the Government and European Union have seen sense and made sure the bureaucracy didn't get in the way of creating important job opportunities – particularly for young people in my constituency."
