A TOP police officer has left the Nottinghamshire force to work in Cleveland.
Simon Nickless has joined Cleveland Police as assistant chief constable, after serving as a chief superintendent.
He replaces Dave Pickard, who retired in April.
Mr Nickless said he had been impressed by the dedication and commitment of the Cleveland force on previous visits to the area.
He said: "I am delighted to join the chief officer team and look forward to sharing the experience I gained from working as a divisional commander in Nottingham city."
And he added: "I'm particularly keen to ensure we deliver the best possible service to our communities, to build confidence and ensure our partnership working is as efficient as it can be."
