1. Chilwell Memorial Institute Lawn Tennis Club One of Nottingham's oldest grass court tennis clubs is holding an open day today from 2pm to 5pm. Visitors can try out the club's facilities in a friendly and relaxed environment, find out more about the club and meet other members. The club is at 129 High Road, Chilwell.
2. Paul Weller The Modfather, whose solo career has outlasted his years with The Jam and the Style Council, will be performing past hits at Sherwood Forest tonight. His latest album, More Modern Classics, looks back at his solo career from 1999 to 2014. He's inspired generations of artists from Oasis to the Arctic Monkeys. 6pm start. Tickets are now sold out.
3. NCN end of year fashion shows Fashion students at New College Nottingham will be showcasing their end of year creations at the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre. Starting from 11am and continuing throughout the day, collections will include Bespoke Vintage Castle, inspired by royal glamour and Khaleesi Vanloon, based on evil fairytale characters.
4. Chilli Day Stonebridge City Farm will be hosting a special open day to celebrate everything to do with Chilli plants. There will be a variety of planets for sale including Scotch bonnet and Black Pearl. Doors open at 10am. Free.
5. Science Museum Live: The Energy Show London's famous Science Museum will be heading to the Nottingham Playhouse today for a day of exploding fireballs, hydrogen balloons and fast rockets. Discover all of the great gadgets and experiments on stage. Tickets from £10. 2pm start. Call 0115 941 9419.
6. Chilwell Carnival The annual summer celebrations in Chilwell will be taking place today at College House Junior School. There will be lots of attractions catering for all of the family including a dog display, pony rides, fencing, archery and a car boot sale. Event starts at 11:30am. Adult ticket £1.50, children £1. Tickets can be bought on the gate.
