ONLY one secondary school in Notts is currently rated "inadequate".
Beech Hill Special School, in Mansfield, was given the rating after it was inspected a year ago.
Monitoring inspections have revealed that "reasonable" progress is being made.
According to Department for Education figures, eight schools or academies are currently "outstanding". They are George Spencer Academy, in Stapleford; Minster School, in Southwell; Redhill Academy, in Arnold; Toot Hill, in Bingham; Tuxford Academy; West Bridgford School; Ash Lea Special School, in Cotgrave; and Yeoman Park Special School. Mansfield. Of the rest, 28 are "good", and ten received either "satisfactory" or "requires improvement" after their last inspection. Struggling schools have been paired up with succeeding schools by the county council. An early example was Magnus School, in Newark, improving with Minster School and its executive head teacher Phil Blinston.
